Give it a good clean!
We don’t just mean a quick hoover and dust. We mean focus on the detail. For example, consider giving the bathroom and kitchen a deep clean. Remove cobwebs from tops of curtains, dust around the skirting boards, clean tile grout around the bath and add in some air fresheners or plants. Cut the grass if you have a garden, or tidy the communal areas if you’re in a flat.
Remove any clutter
We’re not suggesting you throw out your belongings, but it’s good if your property looks spacious to potential tenants, so don’t just shove everything in cupboards as tenants regularly look for suitable storage space while viewing. Take the opportunity to dispose of clutter as this won’t be beneficial to tenants.
Modernise the property
This could go as far as installing a new kitchen and / or bathroom suite, but actually just a new coat of paint to freshen and brighten a room goes a long way. Consider new flooring if tired, new curtains if old, new shower curtains if mouldy etc. Small changes go a long way.
